Local Presence
Google Business Profile Optimisation
For most local businesses, the Google Business Profile is the first thing a potential customer sees — often before the website. If it's incomplete, out of date or in the wrong category, you're losing enquiries without ever knowing.
We set profiles up properly and tidy up existing ones: accurate information, the right categories, real services, current photos and a clear description.
Why it matters
The listing people actually look at.
Search your own business on a phone. What shows first usually isn't your homepage — it's your profile.
- It often appears above your website in local search results
- It's where people check hours, directions and reviews before contacting you
- An incomplete profile quietly costs you calls you never hear about
- Wrong or duplicated details create doubt at exactly the wrong moment
- It's free — the only cost is the attention it never gets
What we optimise
Six areas we work through.
Each one is a place profiles commonly fall short.
Business information
Name, address handling, phone, website link and opening hours — accurate and consistent everywhere they appear.
Categories
The right primary category and sensible secondary ones, which strongly influences the searches you're eligible for.
Services & products
Your actual services listed out with short, clear descriptions instead of one vague catch-all.
Photos
A tidy, current set of images that represents the business properly rather than whatever was uploaded years ago.
Business description
A clear, readable description of what you do and who you serve — written for people, not stuffed with keywords.
Review approach
A simple, repeatable way to invite reviews from happy customers and respond to the ones you receive.
Being clear
Optimisation is not a guarantee.
A well-maintained profile gives Google accurate, complete information and gives customers fewer reasons to hesitate. That's a real advantage — but it isn't the same as a promise of Map Pack placement or a ranking position.
Proximity to the searcher, category competition and your overall presence all play a part, and none of them can be bought. Anyone guaranteeing local rankings is guessing.
Works well with
Profile, reviews and website together.
The profile links to your website, so the two should tell the same story. Our SEO setup service covers the site side of local search.
Once the profile is in good shape, Google Review NFC cards make it easier for satisfied customers to leave a review in person.
FAQs
Google Business Profile questions.
What is a Google Business Profile?
It's the free business listing that appears in Google Search and Google Maps, showing your name, category, contact details, hours, photos and reviews. For many local businesses it gets seen more often than the website.
Will this get me into the Google Map Pack?
We can't promise that. Map results depend heavily on proximity, category relevance and your profile's overall prominence. What we can do is make sure the profile is complete, accurate and giving Google the clearest possible picture.
I already have a profile — is it worth reviewing?
Usually yes. Most profiles we look at have missing services, a vague description, the wrong primary category or photos that haven't been touched since setup.
Do you manage the profile ongoing?
Our core service is setup and optimisation. We can discuss lighter ongoing help with posts and updates if that's useful, but we won't sell a management retainer that mostly runs itself.
Can you get bad reviews removed?
No. Nobody can remove genuine reviews. We can help you respond well and make it easier for satisfied customers to leave their own.
